Criticism

Film criticism is an analysis of different films. There are 2 categories:
· Academic criticism: these are made by film scholars.
· Journalistic criticism: These appear in newspapers and many other Medias on the world. They just have one or two days to make their own opinion about the film.
Criticism has an important impact on films and history, because the directors can used those opinions and for their next movie they can make them better.

We must make a critic for each movie that we see, because there we can help those people that don´t understand the mistakes on the film and the director could do it better. This is a very good way to learn more about films, because here we can analyze each part of the movie and we can focus on the specific details that are important.

iron man Anlanysis

Historical Factors:

Stan Lee had the idea of a businessman superhero. He wanted to create a character that would go against the spirit of the times and Marvel's readership. Iron Man first appeared in 13- to 18-page stories in Tales of Suspense, that were supernatural stories. The character's original costume was a bulky gray armored suit, replaced by a golden version in the second story.

Characters and representation:

· Tony Stark: he is an industrialist ingenious engineer who suffers a severe heart injury during a kidnapping in which his captors attempt to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction
. He instead creates a powered suit to save his life and escape captivity.
· Pepper Potts: has the unenviable task of keeping billionaire playboy Stark in line in the beginning, and forms the logical counter-argument to Tony's epiphany-driven quest for redemption.

Sound and Music/ Dialogues:
The composer of the music in iron man was Ramin Djawadi
. The director, Favreau, clearly focus on "heavy" guitar in the score, and Djawadi composed the music on that instrument before arranging it for orchestra. If we talk about the dialogues there was much improvisation in dialogue scenes, because the script was not completed when filming began. The filmmakers focused on the story making sense and planning the action instead of the script. Favreau acknowledged that improvisation would make the film feel more natural. Some scenes were shot with two cameras to capture lines said on the spot. Multiple takes were done, because Downey wanted to try something new each time. It was Downey's idea to have Stark holds a news conference the floor, and he created the speech Stark makes when demonstrating the Jericho weapon.

Why directors make trailers?

Directors to film a movie they have to sing a lot of papers to make everything legal, and also they have to buy almost everything to make the best movie ever. When directors want to create a perfect movie and to win an award they have to make an excellent trailer, that´s why they make trailers, to make people to see the movie and to tell their friends to see it. If the trailer is good, people will want to see the entire movie. People just take like a picture at the first image that you are and when we talk about movies is the same, if we see for first time a movie or a trailer it must be mysterious, romantic, horrify, etc, to make it interesting and to want to see it. Each director is different and they think different, so for some directors’, trailers aren´t important but for others they are important. A trailer is like a summary of the movie that´s why some directors don´t like that people see trailers because they know everything that would happened in the movie and if they don´t like the trailer they never will see the movie.

Analysis of the movie Valentine´s Day

Narrative and Story:
The story is told by different point of view of different loves and different couples. The movie is clear, because the director make everything in order and clear for us to understand what is happening in the movie.
Characters and representation:
* Liz: She has 2 works. She work as a secretary in an office and she talk with people to entertain them by the phone.
*Jason: He at the beginning of the movie act like a real boy and seems to has strong feelings about the soldier, but at the end of the movie appear that he like boys, he was homosexual.
*Morley Clarkson: She at the begging of the movie seems to be a romantic and she will marry with Reed, but then she left the house and returns the ring to Reed.
Lighting, color and shades:
The lights that the director put to film the movie are perfectly used, because we can see the different lights and shades that appear on screen. The colors that the characters used are something that call our attention and made us to be interest in the movie. The director used those colors to make the movie better and to have a point of attention. Also, they put many colors because they wanted to create a place of love.

This movie is very cute, some people said that is boring, but for me was just okay. You must see it….!

Price of Persia:The sands of time.

I want to share my opinion and point of view of the effects of this movie that for me was very interesting. When I first saw this movie I thought that would be with bad effects and with a lot of blood, but when the clock was running the movie was becoming interesting and it was not because the drama, for me was because the many effects that this movie had, and also had a lot of shots. This movie had many effects because it plays with the time. Another thing that I noticed was that when was a battle there was like thousands of soldiers and that was impossible true and my opinion was that there was doubles that when they put the effects they copy and paste the people in the battle. Well I hope that you can see this movie is very interesting in the part of the effects.

Film Production

When we talk about film and shots we must ask some questions to ourselves:

*What is the best viewpoint for filming this position of the event?

*How much are should be incluided in this shot?

Well after this questions we have to know 3 definitions:

Scene: efines the place or setting where the action is laid.

Shot: Defines a continuous view filmed by one camera without interuption

Sequence: A series of scene or shot complete in itself.

There are 6 basic shots in film:

1)Extreme Long Shot: Taken at a great distance.

2) Long Shot
:The distance between the audience and the stage in the live theatre

3) Full Shot:
Barely including the whole body

4) Medium Shot:
Knees to waste up

5) Close Up: Concentrates on a relatively small object.

6) Extreme Close-Up:
Might just show eyes or mouth

There are more shots but this 6 are the basic.

Film is not only about shots, it also have types of cameras angles:

Objective: Te audience point view

Subjective: The camera acts as the viewers eyes-movement.

Point of view: What the character is seeing.

Film without all this techniques would be nothing because of this is what makes films interesting.
